A way to reduce congestion
Longueuil, January 17, 2019 - With major work looming on the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Bridge-Tunnel and the construction on Route de l’Aéroport in Longueuil, the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) wishes to remind the public about the introduction of lines 22 and 161, which will improve service at the Longueuil–Saint-Hubert train station and access to the Longueuil metro from Boucherville.
Line 22 will depart from rue Joyal in Longueuil and take boulevards Jacques-Cartier, Béliveau, Roberval and Vauquelin to chemin Chambly, before arriving at the Longueuil–Saint-Hubert train station on Route de l’Aéroport. Line 161, meanwhile, will depart from the Mortagne park-and-ride lot and will take boulevards Jacques-Cartier and Roland-Therrien, accessing the Longueuil terminal from Route 132 and the 132/134 ramp. This will give users from Boucherville and Longueuil a new route to the metro, not to mention Cégep Édouard-Montpetit.
“After only a few months, users are already onboard with these new lines, which we’re happy to offer at a time when traffic problems in the area are only getting worse. This is a great opportunity for motorists to change their habits and leave their cars at home in favour of public transit,” pointed out Pierre Brodeur, Chairman of the RTL Board of Directors.

These service improvements are made possible by a financial contribution from the Ministère des Transports as part of Mobilité Montréal’s mitigation measures.
